WINCHESTER, Ind. (NLI) - In the spring primary and during a test this week, Randolph County's new voting machines did not tabulate votes correctly.
County Clerk Claudia Thornburg said the machines will work for the Nov. 7 election. Officials from Voting Technologies International, which operates the machines, are scheduled to fix the system Monday.
"It's just adding the numbers through all 25 precincts that doesn't work well," Thornburg said.
Even so, Thornburg and the elections board will develop a backup plan as a precaution.
The new machines are displayed at the courthouse so voters can practice before going to the polls.
