The new city of Chattahoochee Hill Country in southwest Fulton County hit a snag in its first-ever elections Tuesday morning.
11Alive News learned that the city's electronic voting machines malfunctioned, and after trying for about an hour, the city reverted to using paper ballots for today's elections.
By 8:30 a.m., the electronic machines were fixed and voting was back to normal.
The city is working to get permission to extend the voting day by one hour to make up for the morning's difficulties, but has been told such a move would take a court order.
11Alive's Denis O'Hayer is scheduled to have a live report from Chattahoochee Hill Country on 11Alive News at Noon.
