Lis Bourcier, Horry County's Public Information Officer, said about 80% of the voting machines in the county are experiencing a programming error.
Bourcier said technicians are going to each of the 118 polling places in the county and servicing the machines that are malfunctioning.
However, Bourcier said no one is being turned away from the polls because there are paper ballots at the precints where the machines are down.
The polls in Horry County are open until 7 p.m. Saturday night for people who want to vote in the Republican primary.
