DELAND Volusia County elections officials plan to feed 3,986 paper ballots from the Daytona Beach early voting site through the machine that scans them at 10 a.m. at the Department of Elections in DeLand.
The county's canvassing board decided Monday to scan the ballots a second time because of a four-ballot discrepancy from the site at City Island, Supervisor of Elections Ann McFall said.
McFall said she received an advisory from the equipment's vendor last week saying similar problems had been encountered elsewhere.
"The other sites balanced perfectly," McFall said. "I think it's the machine."
The Department of Elections is at 125 W. New York Ave. Two weeks of early voting ended Saturday.
