Poll worker Maureen Hill could only think of one word to describe how the voting was going Tuesday morning at the Martin Luther King Towers polling place.
It was "crazy," Hill said of the White Hall Drive location. A state mobile field attorney had to be dispatched to the polling site after four of five voting machines went offline and became inoperable.
Election protection authorities said a number of mobile field attorneys were being dispatched across metro Atlanta throughout the day Tuesday.
Early Tuesday, field attorneys were sent to locations in Lithonia, South Fulton and Atlanta. Volunteer poll watchers also were at some locations to assist with any problems.
At MLK, Hill said that voters made the situation there easier to manage.
"The people were nice and calm," she said. "So everything went smoothly."
Hill didn't know how long the machines were down or what caused the glitch.
