ballot-counting mishap has further implications. Ballots are counted using
memory cards located in separate voting machine at precincts. The cards are
supposed to be read by special computers — or servers — that tabulate votes once
the polls are closed.

statewide voter registration program that they plan to use their old systems for
most Election Day functions this year. During simulated elections that ended
Friday, clerks had problems accessing the system from polling sites and
generating data reports. They also said the system, known as SCORE (State of
Colorado Registration and Election) slowed down when many poll workers were
connected simultaneously.

Washington County ballots. The mistake was discovered Friday and a small batch
of corrected ballots were printed in time for Monday's early voting for the May

Phillips said that problem was an internet connection problem. She said the problem was solved "in a few minutes." During the outage, Phillips said voters were checked in by telephone, which took about one minute longer than normal. Phillips said she did not believe any voters were inconvenienced because, as of 9:30, 467 voters had cast ballots at the Klondike branch, and that is high compared to other locations.

an unexpected number of registered Republican voters crossing over to the
Democratic primary for a ballot shortage early Tuesday. Myers said before noon
that Democratic ballots were in short supply at several Howard County precincts,
and more ballots were being printed.
