State Approves Recount For Nader
Campaign Pays For Recount

CONCORD, N.H. New Hampshire's election officials agreed Friday to a last-minute recount of the presidential race requested by Ralph Nader.
Nader asked for the recount last week, but the state initially said no because a check to pay for it had not arrived in time. Nader had until 4:30 p.m. Friday to get his check in.
The campaign electronically transferred the $2,000 fee to the state this afternoon, prompting officials to give the recount a green light.
Nader's campaign said some voting machines in the state logged results that favored President George W. Bush by 5 to 15 percent over what previous trends and exit polls would suggest.
The fee is required of candidates who lose by more than 3 percentage points. Democrat John Kerry won the state with 50 percent to Bush's 49 percent. Nader had just under 1 percent.
