News Advisory:
In anticipation of tomorrow's Congressional challenge to the Presidential electors, a coalition of groups supporting the challenge will hold a press conference on Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at 2 p.m. in the Zenger Room at the National Press Club. The Club is located at 529 14th Street, 13th floor, Washington.
Former Florida Congressman Peter Deutsch, who led a similar challenge in 2000 and is now advising groups in the coalition, will speak at the briefing. The lead trial counsel and lead plaintiff for the legal case challenging the Ohio vote, Moss v. Bush, are also slated to speak. David Lytel, founder of ReDefeatBush.com, will also participate.
On Thursday, the electoral votes for election of the President are to be opened and counted in a joint session of Congress. Several members of Congress, led by Congressman John Conyers and Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones, are planning to object because of numerous instances of voter fraud and disenfranchisement.
