El Paso County Attorney José Rodríguez had a news conference this afternoon announcing an investigation into allegations of malfunctioning of several Diebold electronic voting machines in El Paso County.
Rodríguez said he has received complaints from voters that when they check their votes at the end of the process, the machines have registered wrong votes. The voters have then been able to edit their electronic ballots before sending the ballots in.
Both the Office of the Texas Secretary of State and the County Elections Department have been informed about complaints received by the County Attorney s office regarding alleged problems encountered by several citizens who went to cast their votes during the early voting period for the November 7 election.
