Northumberland County voting machines will be impounded (PA)
The Daily Item 04 November 2008
SUNBURY - A Northumberland County Judge has ordered that all voting machines will be impounded after tonight's preliminary vote county in order to explore a computer glitch that affected some straight party votes.
The Republican State Committee asked for the action after problems were reported today by some voters who cast straight party ticket votes. Northumberland County Judge Charles Saylor issued a ruling Tuesday night ordering that the machines be secured.
Election officials said tonight that results will be downloaded from the machines to secure preliminary unofficial results before all the mahines are locked up.
The official count is scheduled for Friday.
