11/7/2006 Registration errors IL Cook County. Registration rolls incorrectly showed two voters had already voted. Another had registered when he renewed his driver's license and was not on the rolls, could not vote. Story Archive

11/7/2006 Machine malfunction IN MicroVote Delaware County. MicroVote touch screen machines weren't operating at the start of the day in 75 precincts. Delaware County Clerk Karen Wenger says start cards that activate the machines for voters were programmed incorrectly by the company that installed the software. 11/17/06 update. MicroVote supplies the machines and technical servics, programs the machines, tabulates the results, and even counts the provisional ballots. The County is considering "whether county election officials should program and tabulate vote results." Story

11/7/2006 Deceptive practices MD Prince George County. Inaccurate sample ballots describing Republican Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. and Senate candidate Michael S. Steele as Democrats were handed out to voters in at least four polling sites in Prince George's County election day morning . Story

Missourians for Honest Elections received news of two incidents in which ES&S iVotronic touch screen machines incorrectly recorded voters' intentions. These occurred at the Brentwood Community Center in St. Louis County. There have also been several verified reports from voters in St. Louis County who had this happen to them when trying vote absentee at the St. Louis County Board of Elections in Maplewood. Story

11/7/2006 Machine malfunction MS Diebold Hancock County. Diebold TSx voting machines aren't working throughout the county. "I think all 26 had problems. Some precincts couldn't even open the doors because it takes the poll workers so long to get one vote a-matic up," Hancock County Circuit Clerk Pam Metzler said. "We've had major problems. We've had more problems in this election than any other election, and I've been here 30 years." Volunteers monitoring the election for the Center for Justice say it's been a mess all over. 11/7/2006 Machine malfunction OH Diebold Cuyahoga County. Forty-three of the county’s 573 voting places either failed to open on time or couldn’t get some or all of their electronic voting machines to work. Voters were turned away. Story Archive

Diebold touch screens weren't working, and voters were told they would have to vote provisional ballots, which aren't counted until 10 days after the election. One report: In wards 7, 19, 51 in Philly, PA, the crowds are going wild. Inside several voting locations, individuals have poured white out onto the polling books and the poll workers are allowing voters to go into the polls and vote without first registering. Several individuals are on hand demanding that voters vote straight Democrat. Story

11/7/2006 Machine malfunction PA ESS Cumberland County. A voter reports vote-switching on the iVotronics. Just returned from voting in Lemoyne, PA. Two of the five voting machines were not working. When asked why the machines were down, a poll worker said the two machines were automatically casting votes opposite of the ones selected. I believe the machines were called "VOTRONIC"

11/7/2006 Machine malfunction PA Sequoia York County. A ninety-one year old woman who voted straight Democratic was surprised to find that the Sequoia Edge review screen showed she had cast a vote for Republican Rick Santorum. She was able to correct the ballot before casting it. 15 to 20 voting machines malfunctioned in the county: wires came loose inside some machines; others had been programmed with the wrong date.
