But in the end, no elections were overturned once 4,446 votes that accidentally went untallied Tuesday night were added to vote totals. The votes, amounting to 14 percent of all ballots cast in Shawnee County, came from 42 of 198 precincts.

is in Jefferson City's Fourth Ward, voted on a Western District ballot, not an
Eastern District. The district boundary runs through the precinct, and poll
workers should have determined which ballot to give individual voters based on
where they live.

uncounted Tuesday night did not change the outcome of the county's races. The
problem, which was discovered by election officials Wednesday morning, left the
winners of some of the close races hesitant to crack open the champagne.

Premier has blamed the problem on virus protection software and issued an advisory in May to boards of elections, Brunner said. The problem occurred three times in Montgomery County, and was caught, so the votes were counted, said Steve Harsman, director of the Montgomery County Board of Elections. He said officials thought it was human error and did not realize that there was a problem with software.

today following a controversial primary election Tuesday. Voters said no to the
issue by a 277-273 tally; however, some voters reported receiving the wrong
ballot just after polls opened Tuesday. At least four people were given the
wrong ballot on the electronic voting machine Tuesday morning, and Victoria
Superintendent Linda Kenne said she heard reports of discrepancies up until 6:30
p.m. Tuesday.
