By: Adrienne Lee Volunteers who worked the Jester Center caucus on Tuesday are suspicious of at least one of the caucus lists, the precinct chairman said late Thursday night. At least three students who signed the list verified that the candidates attached to their names were not the candidates they voted for.

Published:Saturday, March 8, 2008 Nancy Gier Chicago Daily Herald 08 March 2008 Justin Major, a voter protection lawyer for the Foster campaign, observed that the word "Republican" flashed on a touch-screen voting booth at Pioneer School at 615 Kenwood in West Chicago as though it was a primary election. The ballot was normal otherwise and the word came up only on the screen. Paper ballots were also available, and no problems were reported with the use of paper.

Published:Wednesday, March 5, 2008 Lufkin Daily News 05 March 2008 Thelma "Midget" Sherman, who was on the ballot herself as a candidate for tax assessor, said the county's paper ballot machines had been improperly coded and would not accept the hard-copy ballots. So early voting results, which usually are available within two or three hours of when the polls close, were not released until after 2 a.m. Wednesday instead of 9 or 10 p.m. Tuesday. About a dozen people were still at the county courthouse annex when the final totals were released at 4:20 a.m.

When Laura Castro arrived at Lake Pointe Elementary School to vote at 9 a.m. Tuesday, she encountered an anxious and frustrated crowd. Castro, a technical writer for the UT School of Law, said the line of about 40 people was not moving because only one of about nine polling machines was working properly.

"Each machine will only take 10 precincts," Sherman said. "The precinct numbers labeled on the cards did not match the information inside the card, and the machines would not accept them. We had to go back and start from scratch, physically counting ballots at times."

Published:Tuesday, March 4, 2008 WHIO-TV 04 May 2008 In Darke County, the Board of Elections reported a major problem. The race
for the 79th Ohio House District representative between Richard Adams and Joe
LeMasters did not appear on the electronic ballot, but on paper ballots at 13
precincts. The problem was discovered two hours after the polls opened. Unless
voters noticed it, and voted on paper ballot for the race, they did not vote for
the race, and will not be allowed to re-vote. Memory Cards were re-programmed to
fix the problem.

independent investigation into whether the county's voting machines made errors
in the Feb. 5 presidential primary. Sollami-Covello, who counts and certifies
election results, made the request to county Superintendent of Elections Bettye
Monroe, who maintains the machines, which are made by California-based Sequoia
Voting Systems.

They printed up new ballots, but due to equipment malfunctions, they fell behind in delivering the new ballots to the precincts.
